A Lovely Week Off

After some lovely time off, it's back to the daily grind. When I posted ten days ago about my birthday, I mentioned my younger sister visiting... Well, she brought a wonderful surprise gift with her--our mom! I almost jumped outa my socks when I saw her standing beside the car!

I'm on the right

To ease back into gardening, blogging, and normalcy, I thought I'd share a few pictures I took of wildflowers along the path to Battery Spencer in San Francisco...

  5. Thanks for the replies, everyone.

Rachel~It was a great gift indeed! I had no idea when my mom would visit. She has an extremely busy & stressful job, and because of health issues my dad is susceptible to viruses etc, and doesn't like to travel...

Shawn Ann~The flowers were taken with the macro on my camera. When I originally replied to your post about the Canon, I wasn't used to using it yet, and now I really like it (it's amazing what reading a manual will do for ya!). Did you end up getting the Canon also?

  6. yes, I got the SX200IS, isn't that the one you suggested? I still am not use to it...so don't ask me what a macro is!LOL!

  7. That's fantastic. What a lovely spot for a picture, of course. I need to get my aunts out here for a visit. I don't think they've ever come to California. Boogers.

  8. Shawn Ann~ok, totally jealous! That's the one I really wanted, but the day DH was to order it for Christmas, I received the Canon Powershot SD780 from my parents. I was joking around w/DH that since I take more macro shots, I need an SLR with a good marco lens (not that that will happen any year soon).

  9. Stefaneener~ The pic of us ladies was taken at Vista Point. Battery Park was higher up, so the view was better, had less people, and had the flowers. After that and other common sites, I've decided to find the not-so-touristy spots for future visitors to keep the feel of SF fresh for us & them (I can only be excited about Lombard St so many times).
